Eligibility

The Yeovil Literary Prize is open to anyone over the age of 16.

Entry fees

  • Novel: £12
  • Short Story: £7
  • Poetry: £7 one poem; £10 for two; £12 for three
  • Writing Without Restrictions: £5

Reward Proposed

  • Novel: 1st £1000; 2nd £250; 3rd £100
  • Short Story: 1st £500; 2nd £200; 3rd £100
  • Poetry: 1st £500; 2nd £200; 3rd £100
  • Writing Without Restrictions: 1st £200; 2nd £100; 3rd £50

Deadline

31st May, 2018

Rules for Application         

  • Entries must be in English.
  • Entries must be the work of the entrant and must not have been previously self-published, broadcast, or accepted for publication.
  • There are four categories:

Novel – maximum of 15,000 words, including synopsis and opening chapters.
Short Story – maximum of 2,000 words.
Poetry – maximum of 40 lines.
Writing Without Restrictions – this category is wide open. The judges are looking for anything you have written that is good, and is legal.
